Alpine skiing competitions for women in downhill at the 2018 Winter Olympics were held on February 21 . The venue was the Chongbon ski stadium, located in the resort of the same name. The start of the race is scheduled for 11:00 local time ( UTC + 9 ). Each country can be represented by no more than 4 skiers.
The current Olympic champions for the first time in the history of alpine skiing were two athletes at once. At the Games in Sochi, the first place was shared by Slovenian Tina Maze and Swiss Dominica Gizin [1] . At the same time, none of the athletes will defend their title in Pyeongchang, as both skiers have completed their sports careers.
Sofia Goja became the first Italian ever to win Olympic gold in downhill. A year earlier, Goja won the downhill and super giant at the pre-Olympic starts on the tracks of Chunbon.
Lindsey Vonn won her third Olympic medal, having previously won two awards at the 2010 Games.
