Gerrityan Eggenkamp ( Dutch: Gerritjan Eggenkamp ; November 14, 1975 - Leiden ) - Dutch athlete, rower. Silver medalist at the 2004 Summer Olympics [1] . He is a co-opted member of the Council of the International Rowing Federation [2] .

Biography

Gerritian Eggenkamp was born on November 14, 1975 in the Dutch city of Leiden, South Holland . He trained at the base of the Proteus Eretes club, Delft . He began his professional career as a rower since 1990. He studied at Delft University (Master's degree in Applied Computer Science) and Oxford University (Master's in Research Management) [3] . In 2009, he was appointed a member of the board and executive committee of the Alliance of the Olympic Torch 2028 ( Dutch de Alliantie Olympisch Vuur 2028 ). The tasks of this alliance included popularizing the Olympic Games in the Netherlands, as well as preparing the country to host the 2028 Summer Olympic Games. The first competition in his rowing career in the international arena was the 1993 World Junior Rowing Championship, which took place in Norway on Lake Orungen in . During the final swim of the FB group, his team finished third with a score of 06: 14.480 and dropped out of the further fight for medals [5] .

Mencha’s only Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens . As part of the eight with the steering, his team came second in the final race.
