Mongolia was represented by two athletes in cross-country skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics . At the opening ceremony, the right to fly the national flag was entrusted to the skier Achbadrah Batmunkh , and at the closing ceremony - to the skier Chinbatyn Otgontsetsag . According to the results of the competition, the national team of Mongolia, which took part in its fourteenth Winter Olympic Games, again remained without medals.

Qualification of athletes for participation in the Olympic Games was carried out on the basis of the FIS special qualification rating as of January 21, 2018 [1] . To obtain an Olympic category “A” license, athletes needed to score a maximum of 100 points in the FIS distance rating [2] . Moreover, each NOC can apply for the Games 1 man and 1 woman, if they have met the qualification criterion "B", according to which they can take part in sprint and races of 10 km for women or 15 km for men [2] . According to the results of qualification selection, the national team of Mongolia won 2 Olympic licenses of category “B” [3] .
