The Kingdom of Morocco was represented by 2 athletes in two ski disciplines at the 2018 Winter Olympics . At the opening ceremony, the right to fly the national flag was entrusted to skier Samir Azzimani , and at the closing ceremony, to the champion of the first Youth Olympic Games, skier Adam Lamhamedi . According to the results of the competition, the Moroccan national team, which took part in its seventh Olympic Winter Games, again remained without medals.

Qualification of athletes for participation in the Olympic Games was carried out on the basis of the FIS special qualification rating as of January 21, 2018 [1] . At the same time, the NOC for participation in the Olympic Games could choose only the athlete who entered the top 500 Olympic rating in his discipline, and at the same time had a certain number of points, according to the qualification table [2] . Countries that did not have participants among the 500 strongest athletes could only apply for category B quotas in technical disciplines [2] . Based on the qualification results, the Moroccan national team won the Olympic category “A” license in men's competitions [3] , thanks to the successful performances of Adam Lamhamedi [4] .

Cross country skiing
Qualification of athletes for participation in the Olympic Games was carried out on the basis of the FIS special qualification rating as of January 21, 2018 [5] . To obtain an Olympic license of category “A”, athletes needed to score a maximum of 100 points in the FIS distance rating [6] . Moreover, each NOC can apply for the Games 1 man and 1 woman, if they have met the qualification criterion "B", according to which they can take part in sprint and races of 10 km for women or 15 km for men [6] . Based on the qualification results, the Moroccan national team won one men's category “B” Olympic license in the 15 km race [7] , thanks to the successful performances of Samir Azzimani [8] .
