Biography
Merritt Batrick was born September 3, 1959 in Gainesville , Florida . In 1977, he graduated from Tamalpice High School in Mill Valley , California [2] , and then enrolled at the California Institute of the Arts, from where he was soon expelled.
He began his acting career in 1981 with a small role on television. A year later he got the main role in the comedy sitcom “Losers”, but after the first season of the show was withdrawn from the show [3] . In the same year appeared on the big screen as David Marcus in the science fiction film Nicholas Meyer “ Star Trek 2: Wrath of the Khan ”. He played the same role in 1984 in the sequel to Star Trek 3: Finding Spock , where his character was killed. In the future, he starred in a number of films, including “ The Office ” (1986), “ Shy People ” (1987) and “ Night of Fear 2 ” (1988).
Batrick died of toxoplasmosis complicated by AIDS on March 17, 1989, at the age of 29 [4] [5] . Some sources claim that Batrick was gay [6] . Kirsty Ellie , his co-star in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, said in an interview that he was bisexual [7] .
