Biography

Born in 1922 in the city of Orinin (now Khmelnitsky region , Ukraine ) in a Jewish family. Member of the Komsomol , in the Red Army since 1940 [3] .

Drafted by the Orininsky district military registration and enlistment office to the front. Member of the defense of Odessa, was a gunner gunner 73rd separate machine gun battalion Tiraspol fortified area . On August 18, 1941, he supported the offensive of a rifle platoon during an attack to a height of 174.5 in the battles for Odessa, and destroyed it from the machine gun of the enemy for 8 days. He was wounded, but did not cease fire. After at a distance of 10 km crawled through the ranks of the enemy. September 9, 1941 he was awarded the medal "For Courage", although he presented himself to the less honorable medal "For Military Merit" [3] .

July 3, 1942 Semyon Konstantinovich died in the battles for Sevastopol [4] .

Simon Hitler is one of the few soldiers of the Red Army - participants in the Great Patriotic War, who were the namesakes of the leaders of the top of the Third Reich . Thus, according to the “ Feat of the People ” database, the Soviet awards of the Great Patriotic War marked more than 45 people with the surname Bormann, 18 people with the surname Hess, 34 people with the surname Goering, 71 people with the surname Mueller. The awarded family survived the occupation and left for Israel after the war, changing their surname to Hitlev [5] .

With the filing of the family, a legend of the following content became popular: the commandant Orinina discovered the Hitler family, however, after checking their documents, he was afraid to send a family bearing the name of the Fuhrer to the ghetto [6] [7] .
