History

The Evenk Culture Center “Arun” was founded in 1992 . In 2006 received the status of a state institution. Since 2008, it has the status of an autonomous cultural institution of the Republic of Buryatia. The first leader was the composer Viktor Stepanovich Gonchikov, whose works became an important part of the repertoires of Evenki creative groups. From 2000 to 2010, the institution was headed by Maria Bodouulovna Badmaeva. Since 2010, the director of the Arun center is Shemetova Nadezhda Egorovna.

Activities

AUK RB GRTSEC "Arun" is an autonomous cultural institution of the Republic of Buryatia. It is the organizational and methodological center for the preservation, development and popularization of Evenk culture in the Republic of Buryatia. It maintains cultural ties with other Evenki regions in Russia, regularly participates in all-Russian festivals of the cultural peoples of the North.

SRECC “Arun” conducts the following activities:

Inter-regional Evenk Culture Festival named after Victor Stepanovich Gonchikov, held since 2004 every two years, in November;
Festival of dramatic mini-productions in Evenki language "Evenki Nimbakan". It has been held since 2015 annually, in order to preserve the Evenki language;
Youth festival "Baikal Argish". It is held annually, in order to attract the attention of Evenk youth to their native culture. Held in the format of a summer camp on the shore of Lake Baikal, it includes seminars, conferences and creative contests on the history and culture of Evenki.

Also, SRECC “Arun” as a methodological center has issued a number of methodological manuals on song culture, choreography, history and ethnography of Evenks. In 2015, the collection “Anthology of Evenk music. Songs and instrumental plays ”, which collected musical works of all Evenki composers of Russia. By orders of “Arun” SRECC, the musical compositions “My White Deer”, “Beautiful Land”, “Craftswoman”, “Eveda Asatkar”, “Sokatchari Khunatchan”, “Unukani”, “I Go Si Mini Matal” and others were written.

In 2014, the “Arun” State Regional Center for Culture and Arts together with the Tchaikovsky College of Art delivered the musical-plastic play “The Brave Hunter Tymaul” based on the Evenki legends of the Barguzin Valley. It was the first experience in the Baikal region of staging in such a genre based on Evenki folklore, the performance was praised by critics, and in 2015 was presented at the Buryat Drama Theater named after Hotz Namsaraev .

In 2017, the “Arun” SRECC held in Ulan-Ude an interregional conference “350 years of the adoption of Russian citizenship by Evenk families under the leadership of Prince Gantimur as a determinant in the preservation and development of the historical and cultural development of Evenks” and an Orthodox prayer in his memory.

In February 2018, the “Arun” State Regional Exhibition Center participated in the international tourism project “Fairytale Sagaalgan in Buryatia” - a delegation of New Year folklore characters was solemnly welcomed at the Evenki complex of the Ethnographic Museum of the Transbaikal Peoples in Ulan-Ude , and guests were shown an entertainment program based on the Evenki cultural traditions.

In April 2018, the “Arun” SRECC published the electronic almanac “Evenki Iimngakan-2015-2017” - a collection of videos of the best theater mini-productions of the annual Evenki Nimbakan competition.

In May 2018, the Arun State Regional Center for Culture and Culture took part in the All-Russian festival of the indigenous peoples of the North “Treasures of the North-2018”, which was held in Moscow at the Sokolniki Exhibition Center.

Notes

For 2018, the Arun State Regional Center for the Protection of Natural and Environmental Protection is the only state center for supporting Evenki culture in the East Siberian region.
