Ira Flatou ( Ira Flatow , born March 9, 1949, New York ) is an American radio and television journalist. President (radio show) and TalkingScience, the founder of the latter. Called veteran science correspondent National Public Radio , he also worked for CBS , Westinghouse and CNBC , was a participant in the programs of Today Show , with Charlie Rose , Merv Griffin , Oprah Winfrey [1] . Since 1966 he has been working in radio broadcasting, since 1970, as a journalist, he has been covering scientific news. Winner of the Nirenberg Prizes (2010) and Isaac Asimov of the American Humanist Association (2012) and other differences.

Biography
He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo (Bachelor of Engineering, 1971), where in 2014 he was awarded an honorary doctoral degree.
In 1969-1971 radio news reporter and director (Buffalo, New York). In 1971-1987 producer and scientific correspondent for the morning release of the main news program on National Public Radio. Since 1991, Executive Producer . Also worked and works for other radio programs and on television.
