The International Tournament of Checkers was held in Paris from April 29 to June 12, 1927. The tournament was held in four rounds with the participation of five outstanding masters of the drafts game, including current world champion Marius Fabre , former world champions Isidore Weiss and Stanislas Bizo , future world champion Benedict Springer and one of the leading Dutch dragon players Herman de Jong . The tournament gathered almost all the main favorites at that time in the fight for the world championship and became one of the most significant events in the history of drafts. The first place in a tense struggle was won by Stanislas Bizo. The second place was somewhat unexpectedly occupied by Isidor Weiss, the oldest participant in the tournament.
