Indulis Könins ( Latvian Indulis Ķēniņš ; November 13, 1931, Riga - January 10, 2018) - Soviet and Latvian historian. Doctor of Education, Honorary Doctor of Latvian Academy of Sciences . The author of a number of history books.

Born on November 13, 1931 in Riga . In 1985 he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Latvia . In 1994 he defended his master's work at the Faculty of History and Philosophy of the University of Latvia. In 1995, having defended a dissertation on the topic “Vēstures mācību grāmatas pamatskolām kā skolēnu pilsoniskās attīstības līdzeklis”, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. In 2007 he was elected honorary doctor of the Academy of Sciences of Latvia . Since 2008, retired. Died January 10, 2018.
He has been teaching since 1981. Since 1983, he worked as a teacher at Valdemarpils Secondary School.
The author of more than 10 study guides. Indulis Kenins co-authored such voluminous works as The Great Illustrated Encyclopedia, The Latvian Book Abroad 1920-1940, and Latvija likteņa gaitās 1918-1991. He actively advocated the initiative of introducing the subject “History of Latvia” into the compulsory curriculum; in 2005 he was a member of the working group on maintaining standards for this subject.
