Player Career
Madrid- born José Aurelio Guy began to play football in Real Madrid , speaking in favor of his backup team, Castilla [2] . In the same period, he played for the youth team of Spain , in which he became a finalist at the World Youth Championships in 1985 . At the tournament, Guy spent five of the six games of his team, and in the sixth was a substitute [3] .
After four seasons in Division Two, Guy joined the Examples Espanyol club in the summer of 1988. He scored two goals in 17 matches of his first season in the main Spanish league , and his team flew out of the elite. Guy spent one year with Espanyol in Segunda, managing to gain a foothold in the first team. The Catalans returned to Example for the year, and Guy in the 1990/91 championship with five balls became the team's second best scorer after the German Wolfram Wuttke .
In the summer of 1991, Jose Aurelio Guy moved to Real Zaragoza . He played a role in the club's subsequent achievements: victories in the 1993/94 Spanish Cup and the 1994/95 UEFA Cup . In the 1994/95 season, Guy suffered a serious injury, after which he played irregularly and left the team in June 1996.
The last three seasons Guy spent for Real Oviedo and Toledo clubs, as part of the latter he played two years in Segunda, appearing only in 43 league matches. He ended his football career in 1999 at the age of 33.
Coaching career
José Aurelio Guy began his coaching career at the Toledo Club, immediately after completing his playing career with the same team. He then coached a number of teams from the Segunda and the Segunda B [4] . On December 12, 2009, Guy led the club Examples for Real Zaragoza , replacing the dismissed Marcelino García Toral in this post. [5]
The first game of “Zaragoza” led by Guy ended in a crushing defeat with a score of 0: 6 from Real Madrid , which immediately gave rise to rumors about a possible replacement with Victor Muñoz [6] Guy still remained at his post, the team did the same acquisitions in the winter transfer window, by mid-February, left the relegation zone [7] , eventually taking the 14th place in the championship .
In mid-November 2010, Real Zaragoza was the last in Primera , and Guy was fired. On December 12, 2012, after a more than two-year break in his coaching career, he led the Santander Racing [8] .
