The Aragonese state ( cat. Estado Aragonés) is the Aragon left-wing party, which at first defined itself as nationalist . It was founded in Barcelona in the winter of 1933 during the Second Spanish Republic .
The youth wing of the party, Almogavara ( Los Almogávares ), supported the creation of the Catalan state of Luis Companys , which led to the closure of its headquarters. The organization was somewhat inactive until 1936, when a new main headquarters was opened and Miguel Alcubierre was elected president of the youth wing. He began a campaign of self-determination for Aragon, which aroused the interest of the other left-wing Republican parties.
These actions led to a congress in Casp in early May 1936. The result was an agreement on the statute of autonomy for Aragon, which was never created due to the civil war . In 1939, the work of the party was discontinued.
Estau Aragonés
In 2006, a new party, Estau Aragonés , was created, the goal of which was the independence of Aragon and the liberation of the Aragon working class.
