Fahr ad-Din mosque ( Arabic: مسجد فخر الدين زنكي ) is located in the Somali capital of Mogadishu , in the Hamar Wayne ( Somal. Xamar Weyne , " Old Hamar" ) - the oldest part of the city. Built in 1269 at the behest of the first Sultan of the Sultanate of Mogadishu Fahr al-Din, it is the oldest mosque on the Horn of Africa .

Description
The mosque is built of stone , inside is decorated with Indian marble and corals . Mihrab with an arch decorated with glazed coral tiles.
