Mash is a Russian Internet news project. Founded on April 6, 2017 by Nikita Mogutin. It positions itself as a Telegram channel, but it also has pages in other social networks [1] .

History
The idea of the Mash project belongs to the former deputy chief editor of Life, Nikita Mogutin [2] , with whom he addressed the CEO of News Media holding Aram Gabrelyanov and his deputy Anatoly Suleymanov. The name for the project Mogutin found in the English dictionary. At first, the Mash edition was located in the Life edition, but later the project staff moved to a new address [1] .
Mash channels and pages are in Telegram , VKontakte , Facebook , Instagram , Twitter , YouTube , Viber , TamTam . The staff consists of 27 people - many of them are former employees of Life. The active growth in popularity of Mash occurred in the period from August to September 2017. In December 2017, Mash had 115 thousand subscribers on the Telegram channel. In the same month, the project became self-sufficient [3] . In the first months, Mash was actively referenced in Life; since September 2017, the project has been actively used by other media. Mash is the main official content provider for Life, and the project also provides content for other media, including federal ones [1] . Mash used LifeCorr on a contract basis [4] .
The Mash telegram channel ranked first in terms of quoting in the Russian media following the results of the first half of 2017 in the first rating of the Telegram channels presented by Medialogia [5] .
Owners and management
The chief editor of Mash from 2017 to 2018 was Nikita Mogutin. Since October 2018, the chief editor is Maxim Iksanov .
In April 2018, Aram Gabrelyanov sold his stake in Mash to Nikita Mogutin [6] . Mogutin owned 51% of Mash LLC, but this share was pledged to Gabrelyanov under a loan agreement of July 2018 [7] . In September 2018, Nikita Mogutin sold his stake and left the project [8] .
