Biography

Born July 15, 1888. In 1912, after graduating from the Aviation Department of the Officer Aeronautical School , he was appointed to the aviation detachment of the Brest-Lithuanian Aeronautical Battalion. Since 1913 he was transferred to the Brest-Litovsk Aviation Fortress Unit , renamed the 26th Corps Aviation Unit.

From July 7, 1913 to July 18, 1914, he acted as the sergeant major of an aviation detachment. Member of the First World War . December 18, 1914 "for military distinction" promoted to ensign . November 23, 1914 for courage was awarded the St. George Cross 4 degrees :

November 5, 1916 the plane of V. Ya. Ivanov crashed while landing at the airfield , returning from reconnaissance. He was treated in Odessa and Moscow . In December 1916 he returned to the 26th corps aviation detachment. In July 1917 he was promoted to assignment and seconded to the 1st Odessa Aviation Park, and in October to the Odessa Aviation School.
