Julio Rocha Lopez ( October 12, 1950 [1] - January 13, 2018 ) is a Nicaraguan football functionary, FIFA Development Officer, President of the Central American Football Union and President of the Nicaraguan Football Federation . In May 2015, Rocha Lopez was arrested in Switzerland in connection with allegations of corruption in the United States [2] .

Rocha Lopez was disqualified by the FIFA Ethics Committee [3] .
In December 2016, he pleaded guilty to a federal court in Brooklyn , USA, on charges of conspiracy to extort money and conspiracy to engage in financial fraud [4] . In particular, Rocha received bribes for the rights to broadcast advertising during the matches of the Nicaraguan team . Rocha was under house arrest and wore an electronic bracelet, coming out on bail of $ 1.5 million [5] .
On January 13, 2018, Rocha Lopez died of cancer in the United States [6] [7] .
