Biography
Born on January 24, 1989 in New Orleans , Louisiana [4] .
In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina , he moved to Houston , Texas [4] .
Amateur career
He started boxing quite late - at age 17 [3] .
US Championship 2010
He played in the light-weight category (up to 69 kg). In the 1/8 final lost to Luis Olivares [5] .
US Championship 2011
He played in the light-weight category (up to 69 kg). In the 1/8 finals defeated Bryant Perrell. In the quarterfinals defeated Alex Martin. In the semifinals lost to Luis Olivares. In the match for 3rd place lost to Willie Jones [6] .
He completed an amateur career with a record of 87-7 [7] .
Professional career
He made his debut in the professional ring on April 28, 2012, having won by knockout in the first round [8] .
Collaborates with manager Jay Jones and promoter Lou DiBella [3] .
On January 9, 2015, he knocked out in the 5th round of the former contender for the world title in two weight categories of the Mexican Ector Velasquez [9] .
Champion bout with Julius Indongo
In November 2017, it was announced that Progreis should meet with former world welterweight champion Ukrainian Viktor Postol . At stake will be the vacant title of interim world champion version of the WBC . The fight was scheduled for March 9, 2018. The winner gets the right to meet with the winner of the battle between José Ramirez and Amir Imam [10] [11] . In February, it became known that Postol will not be able to enter the ring due to injury. He was replaced by former world welterweight champion Namibian Julius Indongo [12] . Prograce won by technical knockout in the second round, sending Indongo four times in a knockdown. Once at the end of the first round and three times in the second [13] [14] .
July 14, 2018, Argentinean Juan José Velasco knocked out in the 8th round [15] [16] .
