Biography
He was born on March 4, 1913 in the village of Petrovskaya , now the Slavic district of Krasnodar Territory, in a peasant family. Russian. He graduated from 8 classes. He worked on a collective farm. [2] .
Emergency Service
In 1935-1937 he served in the Red Army [2] .
At the front
In June 1941 he was again drafted into the army. Since August 1941, he participated in battles with the Nazi invaders. He fought on the Bryansk, Northwest, Central and 1st Ukrainian fronts. By the spring of 1944, Corporal Khrapko had fought as part of the 41st engineer and combat engineer battalion of the 59th separate engineer and engineer brigade. In its composition went to the Victory.
In May 1944 he received the first military award - the medal "For Courage" for the fact that from March 29 to April 3, 1944, acting in the rear of the enemy, he observed and delivered valuable information to the command of the 28th Rifle Corps. On April 2, an armored personnel carrier and 12 Nazis exploded on mines installed by him. [2] .
Between May 6 and 13, 1944, in the area of the city of Zborov ( Ternopil Oblast , Ukraine ), Corporal Khrapko, acting with a group of scouts in the rear of the enemy, established a system of defensive structures, deploying garrisons in settlements, and the location of artillery and mortar batteries. By order of the 60th Army on June 28, 1944 (No. 146 / n) he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree [2] .
In the period from September 14 to 24, 1944, acting in a group of scouts in the rear, 50 km behind the front line, near the town of Debica ( Poland ), Corporal Khrapko conducted reconnaissance of defensive lines, the composition of garrisons, and places of their concentration. All intelligence data was timely transmitted by radio command. By order of the 60th Army on November 6, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree [3] [2] .
In the winter battles of 1945, as part of reconnaissance groups, Senior Sergeant Khrapko passed through the enemy’s defense line 7 times, making passages in minefields and wire fences, providing the possibility of advancement of reconnaissance groups, for which he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree. In April 1945, Senior Sergeant Khrapko, participating in repeated reconnaissance searches behind enemy lines, in the vicinity of Troppau ( Germany , now the city of Opava, Czech Republic ) and near the village of Gross-Herlitz (now Geraltice, northwest of the city of Opava), along with others scouts established the location of pillboxes and field fortifications of the enemy along the Opava River [2] .
In Peaceful Life
In December 1945, Senior Sergeant Khrapko was demobilized, returned to his native village. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory. Petty Officer retired.
Prior to retiring in 1973, he worked as an assistant manager of the department of the Rodina collective farm. He lived in the village of Petrovskaya. He died on January 2, 1980. Buried in the cemetery of the village of Petrovskaya] [2] .
