Range
Leiocephalus greenwayi is endemic to the Bahamas , of which only two small southern islands inhabit, collectively known as [1] . According to other sources, this species offends only on the eastern of these two islands, which means a maximum area of 4.65 square meters. km, most of which is covered with sand unsuitable for living of this species, which prefers a dense shrub. Based on this, the real area of the range is estimated by Leiocephalus greenwayi as 1 sq. Km. km at best. [3]
Security
The eastern island of Plana Cay does not have a permanent population, but serves as a tourist destination. The main threat to this species is the accidental introduction of mammalian predators (e.g. cats), which still did not exist on the island. In light of the small area of the range, presumably the appearance of such predators on the island will very quickly put this species on the brink of extinction. In light of this, the Bahamian National Trust is making efforts to turn the eastern island into a protected area [3] .
