Estrogen- dependent conditions (diseases , disorders , or syndromes) are diseases that are partially or completely dependent on estrogenic activity.
Estrogen-dependent conditions include: mastodynia (pain or increased sensitivity in the chest), [1] [2] breast fibroids , [3] mammoplasia (breast enlargement), macromastia (breast hypertrophy), [4] [5] gynecomastia , [ 6] breast cancer , premature puberty in girls, [7] melasma , [8] menorrhagia, [9] [10] endometriosis , [11] endometrial hyperplasia, [12] adenomyosis, uterine fibroids , [13] uterine cancer ( e.g., endometrial cancer ), ovarian cancer , [14] and giperestrogeniey in men, for example, in at opredelennyhusloviyah such as cirrhosis and sind th Klinefelter . Estrogen-dependent pathologies can be treated or corrected with the help of drugs with antiestrogenic effects. These drugs include
- selective modulators of estrogen receptors (eng. selective astrogen receptor modulators or SERMs), such as tamoxifen and clomiphene ,
- estrogen receptor antagonists such as fulvestrant,
- aromatase inhibitors such as anastrozole and exemestane,
- Gonadotropin releasing hormone analogues (GnRH) such as leuprorelid and cetrorelix, and / or
- other antigonadotropins, such as danazol , gestrinone, megestrol acetate and medroxyprogesterone acetate. [16] [17]
