F-Secure (formerly Data Fellows ) is a Finnish information security and privacy tool company headquartered in Helsinki . The company has 20 international offices and is represented in more than 100 countries. Security laboratories are located in Helsinki and Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia . The company develops and sells anti-virus , password manager , corporate access control systems and other security-related products and services.

History
F-Secure was founded by Petri Allas ( Fin. Petri Allas ) and Risto Siilasmaa ( Fin. Risto Siilasmaa ) in 1988 under the name Data Fellows . Data Fellows was engaged in training of users to work at computers and created databases to order. After 3 years, the company released its first large project in the field of application software and developed a heuristic scanner for antiviruses. In 1994, the company introduced the first version of its own antivirus for Microsoft Windows . In 1999, Data Fellows changed its name to F-Secure .
In June 2015, F-Secure acquired the Danish company nSense , which specialized in consulting in the field of security and vulnerability management [1] . In February 2017, F-Secure bought the private Italian company Inverse Path , which was involved in the security of avionics , automotive components and industrial equipment [2] .
