Andrea Blas Martinez ( Spanish: Andrea Blas Martinez , born February 14, 1992 , Zaragoza ) is a Spanish water polo player , player of the Spanish national team and the Zaragoza water polo club. Champion of Europe and the world in water floor, winner of the silver medal of the Summer Olympic Games in London .

Biography
Andrea Blas was born on February 14, 1992 in Zaragoza . She began her sports career in the local eponymous water polo club “ Zaragoza ” in the 2005/2006 season.
In 2007, she became a member of the Spanish national water polo team for the first time and won a bronze medal at the European Junior Championships in Greece. In 2011, she won the youth world championship in Trieste .
At the European Championship in 2012 in Eindhoven, she finished fifth in the final - in the quarterfinals, the Spanish water polo players lost to Hungary, but in a comforting meeting they defeated the Netherlands.
Thanks to a series of successful performances in 2012, Blas won the right to defend the country's honor at the London Summer Olympics . The Spaniards from the first place left their group, then at the playoff stage they defeated the United Kingdom and Hungary in the quarter finals and semifinals, respectively. In the final decisive match, they met with the US team and lost to it with a score of 5: 8, thereby receiving silver Olympic medals [1] .
After the London Olympics, Andrea Blas remained in the main water polo team of Spain and continued to take part in major international competitions. So, in 2013, she won the home world championship in water sports in Barcelona , where the Spanish team won all matches except the match with the Russian team in the group stage. For this outstanding achievement she was awarded the bronze medal of the Royal Order of Merit for Sports.
In 2014, Blas successfully played at the European Championships in Budapest , where her team also won meetings with all rivals (except meeting with Russia in the group stage) and won first place. At the end of the season she received a silver medal of the Royal Order for Merit to Sports [2] [3] .
Twice recognized as the best athlete of Aragon (2010, 2013), eight times in a row (from 2007 to 2014) - the best athlete of the Aragon Swimming Federation [4] .
