Pyotr Naumovich Fomenko ( July 13, 1932 , Moscow - August 9, 2012 , ibid.) - Soviet and Russian film and theater director, teacher, artistic director of the Moscow Theater "Peter Fomenko Workshop" . Fomenko’s directorial manner is characterized by rich imagination and paradoxical thinking, the construction of a play based on the principle of ironic comparison of contrasting episodes; his works are brightly theatrical and musical, distinguished by brilliant acting ensembles.
In a number of performances of the late 1970s - early 1980s, Fomenko experimented in the genre of tragic grotesque .
The director’s television performances are characterized by in-depth psychologism, exact adherence to the author’s idea and style [3] .
Biography
Peter Fomenko was born on July 13, 1932 in Moscow. He graduated from Moscow school number 9. He was fond of football [4] : the rival in the yard games at that time was the future famous football player A. M. Ilyin , and in junior classes he studied with A. S. Golodets ; played tennis, ball hockey, ice hockey.
Pupil Petr Fomenko love to theater, music instilled in his mother. By later admission, he came to the theater through music. He graduated from the Music and Pedagogical Institute. Gnesins , school of M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov in violin class.
He entered the Moscow Art Theater School , where he quickly became for the conservative teachers, academicians, the focus of all that "is deeply contraindicated to the great school of the Russian theater." Despite the gifted “outcast”, in spite of everything, B. I. Vershilov (student of E. B. Vakhtangov ) continued to study. However, Fomenko was expelled "for hooliganism" from the third year in 1953 .
He entered the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after V.I. Lenin (Faculty of Philology), which he graduated in absentia in 1955 . Here Peter Fomenko became friends with Yu. I. Vizbor , Yu. C. Kim , Yu. I. Kovale . He directed the famous “skits”, made attempts at the first serious productions, in particular, rehearsed “The Stone Guest” by A. S. Pushkin.
In parallel, he studied at the directing department of GITIS (course of N. M. Gorchakov ; among teachers A. A. Goncharov , N. V. Petrov ), which he graduated in 1961. The first performance was staged in 1958 .
Staged by Peter Fomenko in 1966 at the Theater. Mayakovsky's performance "Death of Tarelkin" was banned after fifty shows. The theater legend was the play "New Mystery Buff" in the Theater. Lensoviet (1967), not admitted to the premiere. Fomenko told about this performance: “After the first viewing in the theater named after Two remarkable Leningrad critics, I. I. Shneiderman and R. M. Benyash , approached me of the Leningrad City Council and said: “Young man, do you have a lot of things with you? Take your things and leave. " There were few things, but I did not obey, and the performance was handed over four more times. Igor Petrovich Vladimirov lost weight these days, turned pale, because it was hard for him, of course ... Then N.P. Akimov came as chief expert ... He said: “I don’t like Mayakovsky, but what I saw is not Mayakovsky. At this time, Pyotr Fomenko lived without a permanent job, interrupting casual earnings on television, in provincial theaters, drama groups and even the private practice of a philologist. The same period (1968-1969) included work at the Moscow State University Student Theater Studio on the Lenin Hills, where after staging the performances Mikhail Svetlov’s Evening and Tatyana’s Day, he began rehearsing Ionesko’s Rhinos, but the rehearsals were discontinued by order MGK CPSU.
Not finding work in Moscow, he left for Tbilisi, where he worked for two seasons at the Tbilisi Theater. Griboedova .
From 1972 to 1981 he worked at the Leningrad Comedy Theater (since 1977 the main director), where he left after a long overdue ideological conflict with the regional committee of the CPSU under the leadership of G.V. Romanov .
Returns to Moscow: since 1982, director at the V.V. Mayakovsky Theater, since 1989 - at the E.V. Vakhtangov Theater.
Since 1981, begins to teach at GITIS at the invitation of his teacher, Andrei Alexandrovich Goncharov (at first as a teacher in the workshop of O. Ya. Remez ).
In 1992, he received the title of professor at the RATI .
In 2000, he taught at the Paris Conservatory , then staged performances in Comedy Frances (2003), and in 2005 at the Chekhov Festival in Moscow, a performance staged by Fomenko for actors of the Ostrovsky Comédie-Française forest troupe was shown [6]
In 2001, he graduated from the last year of students. In 2003, he left the department of directing at the RATI (GITIS) and left the official theater pedagogy, to which he gave more than twenty years of his life.
Among the students of Fomenko are directors Sergey Zhenovach , Ivan Popovski, Oleg Rybkin , Elena Nevezhina , Vladimir Epifantsev , Mindaugas Karbauskis , Sergey Puskepalis , Alexey Burago, Nikolai Druchek [7] ; actors Igor Ugolnikov , Galina Tyunina , sisters Polina and Ksenia Kutepov , Madeleine Dzhabrailova , Polina Agureeva , Tagir Rakhimov , Andrei Kazakov , Kirill Pirogov , Ilya Lyubimov , Evgeny Tsyganov , Inga Oboldina [8] .
He died on August 9, 2012 in Moscow [9] [10] . He was buried on August 13 at the Vagankovsky cemetery in Moscow [11] .
