Biography
Kuular Dorzhu Sengilovich was born on August 1, 1932 in the village of Hondergey of the Dzun-Khemchik district of the Tuva People’s Republic. He studied at the Khondergey elementary, Chadan seven-year, Kyzyl No. 2 schools [1] . He graduated from the Abakan State Pedagogical Institute , graduate school of the Institute of World Literature. M. Gorky, USSR Academy of Sciences . He defended his thesis on “Tuvan folklore in the context of the Central Asian oral-poetic tradition” at the Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhology and Tibetology SB RAS in Ulan-Ude (2000) [2] . He worked as a research fellow at TNIIYALI, head of the department of Tuvan philology of KSPI, head of the department of Tuvan folklore and literature of TuvSU . He studied folklore, history and theory of Tuvan literature. He made critical analyzes of the works of Tuvan writers. He taught Turkic literature and literature of the East, compiled programs for textbooks of Tuvan schools. Twenty-six critical evaluations of candidate and doctoral dissertations by Russian scientists have been written [1] .
Creativity
Literary activity began in 1956 [3] . He published the publications Achyty Keser-Mergen (Noble Geser, 1963, 1993), Tuva Ulustun Toldary (Tuvan Folk Tales, 4-7 issue 1957, 1959, 1960, 1963), Tuvan Poetry, 1970, Aas Chogaalynyn Chyykchylaryringa Douza ”(A Handbook for Folklore Collectors, 1971),“ Toogu Bolgash Amgy Ue ”(History and Modernity, 1982) ... K. Dorzhu is the compiler of many collections of oral folk art:“ Tuva Tooldar ”(Tuva Tales, 1957, 1960 in co-authored with A. Kalzan, 1963), “Uruglarga toldar” (Children's Tales, 1959), “Tyvyzyktar” (Riddles, 1958, co-authored with A. Kalzan). In collaboration with C. Kuular, he published a collection of legends and legends “Kys-Khalyyr” (Maiden’s Rock). He wrote a number of prefaces and afterwords to some collections of Tuvan tales: “Tuvan Folk Tales”, 1971, “Demir-Shilgi atytig Boraldai” (Boraldai with a horse, Bora-Shokar, 1983. Under his editorship, “The Tales of Baazanai”, 1980. He was published He is the author, compiler of programs, textbooks and reading books on Tuvan literature for grades 10 and 11. He translated The Blue Notebook by E. Kazakevich 1964, a collection of short stories by Yakut writers Life on the Snowy Ground, 1966. The First Shot V. Sangi , 1967, “Hello, Tuva!” By V. Shiryaeva. A great merit of D. Kuular I he took part in the multi-ton academic publication “History of Soviet Multinational Literature.” He was a member of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tyva (1993).
He died on November 22, 2007 in the city of Kyzyl.
