Biography
Club career
A pupil of the youth school in Stryi and a boarding school in Lviv. He began his adult career in 1985 in the second league as part of Transcarpathia , then he played for Torpedo (Lutsk) and SKA Karpaty . In 1990, at the invitation of Yevgeny Kucherevsky, he moved to Dnipro . The debut match in the major league of the USSR was played on March 1, 1990 against Rotor [1] . For two seasons he played 24 matches in the major league, and also took part in European cup matches.
After the collapse of the USSR, he returned to Lviv and began to play for the Carpathians . The participant of the first match in the history of the championships of Ukraine - March 6, 1992 in the “Carpathians” against “ Chernomorets ” [2] [3] . The author of the first penalty scored “Carpathians” in the national championship - June 14, 1992, in the second leg against “Chernomorets” [4] .
In early 1993 he moved to Volyn , spent two calendar years in the team. Since the beginning of 1995, he played in the first league for Bukovina ; he was a full-time penalty kicker in the team. In the 1995/96 season, he became the silver medalist of the first league. In 1997, he moved to Zaporozhye Metallurg , where he suffered a collarbone injury. The next year he played for Polesie , received a broken leg twice, and ultimately decided to end his professional career. Later he played at the amateur level for “Rock” (Stry), was her playing coach.
Team Career
In 1986, he was called up by Boris Ignatiev to the youth team of the USSR (under 16 years old), became the bronze medalist of the European Youth Championship in Greece. In 1988, at the European Championships in Czechoslovakia, became the European champion at his age. In 1989, as part of the USSR national team, he took part in the youth world championship in Saudi Arabia. In 1990-1991 he played two matches in the USSR youth team in the qualifying tournament of the European Youth Championship.
Personal life
His parents lived in Stryi. Oleg himself was born in Leningrad when his parents went to visit his older brother who served in the army.
In recent years, he has been working as a private entrepreneur [5] . He is a member of the European Party of Ukraine. Married, two daughters. [6]
