Deepak Adhikari ( Beng. দীপক অধিকারী , Eng. Deepak Adhikari ), better known as Dev ( Beng. দেব , Eng. Dev ; born December 25, 1982 , Mahisha , West Bengal , India ) - Indian actor, film producer, screenwriter and politician, starred mainly in Bengali movies .

Biography

Dev was born in the village of Mahisha near . His father worked in the field of nutrition, and his mother was a housewife. He spent his childhood with his uncle and sister in . He then moved to Mumbai , where he graduated from Purusottam High School in [2] .

He also studied acting at an acting school named after Kishore Namit Kapur. According to his memoirs, being on summer vacation, he visited with his father on the set of the film . He described it as a family vacation for them, and the work was not like work. In childhood, he first felt the taste of cinema. Although it was his first experience, life continued the same over the next few years. Dev often accompanied his father on the set of films of various directors. After that, he received a diploma from Vharatiya-Vidiyapith University in Pune in the field of computer engineering, he returned to Mumbai, starting his career as an observer on the set of the film [3] .

Career began with the movie Agnishapath , which fell through at the box office. However, in 2007 he released the film I Love You , in which he played a major role. The film was a commercial success, but after the release of the film, he did not get a single role for a year, but he took dance lessons in Mumbai and worked out the battle scenes under the leadership of Ayejab Gulab [4] .

In 2009, the film , in which he starred with actress Subshashri Ganguly. The film became a hit in West Bengal [5] .

In 2013, the movie "Moon Moon" was released , which was filmed on the novel of the same name [6] . The film was a commercial success and became the highest-grossing film in Bengali at that time. In 2017, the film Chaamp was released , in which Dev appeared not only as an actor, but as a screenwriter and producer under his own banner “Dev Entertainment Ventures” [7] . The film was a commercial success. In the same year, Amazon Obhijaan was released , which is a continuation of the 2013 film, which became the highest grossing in West Bengal.

Now Dev is filming Kabir and Binoy Badal Dinesh , one of which will be released in April 2018.
