La Hague ( French: La Hague ) - a canton in France, located in the Normandy region , Department of the English Channel . It is part of the county of Cherbourg .

History
The canton was formed as a result of the reform of 2015 [1] . It included nineteen communes of the abolished canton of Beaumont-Ag and the commune of Kerkevil .
In 2016-2017, the composition of the canton changed significantly: from January 1, 2016, nineteen communes of the former canton of Beaumont-Ag were merged into one new commune of La Ag , and from January 1, 2017, the commune of Kerkevil became part of the new commune of Cherbourg-en-Cotantin .

The canton consists of communes (population according to the National Institute of Statistics for 2015 ):
- La Hague (11,824 people)
- Cherbourg-en-Cotantin (5,095 people, associated commune of Kerkevil)
Policy
In the 2017 presidential election, the canton residents cast 26.4% of the votes in the 1st round of Emmanuel Macron versus 21.1% of Jean-Luc Melanschon , 20.0% of Marin Le Pen and 14.4% of Francois Fillon ; in the 2nd round, Macron won the canton, receiving 68.3% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Nicolas Sarkozy - 32.4%, Francois Hollande - 22.6%, Marine Le Pen - 15.7%; 2nd round: Hollande - 58.0%).
Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Channel Council by mayor delegate of the associated commune, Urville-Nakeville, Yveline Druez and senior citizen Jean-Paul Fortin (both are Different Left ).
