Scientific activity
The scientific activity of Rubenis was aimed at the study of antiquity. The first two monographs, “Phenomenology” and “Critique of the Basic Principles of Protestant Unorthodox,” in Russian, were published in 1983. This was followed by a monograph published in 1989, the first historical study “The Life of the Middle Ages and the Culture of Europe” (“Viduslaiku dzīve un kultūra Eiropā”). Further studies are devoted to the issues of human values, based on the past but in connection with the present. An example is the work «tika. Viduslaiku izglītība, antropoloģija un ētika "," Ētika. Rietumu baznīctēvu antropoloģija un ētika "," Ētika. Kristīgās antropoloģijas un ētikas veidošanās ”.
The second area of research is the culture of Europe and the history of art. Examples of this trend are the works of “Senās Romas kultūra”, “Viduslaiku kultūru Eiropā”, “Renesanses Filozofiski Maģiskais Reālisms”, “Absolūtisma un apgaismības laikmeta kultūra”, “Baroks un klasicisms”, “Māksülesleuu mesläesleu dom meslinesuu vēstures teorijas vēsture »
