Bokaro Steel City is a city located in East India in the state of Jharkhand . It is the administrative center of the Bokaro district. It is one of the most densely populated cities in the state of Jharkhand. The city has always been multinational and cosmopolitan.

The city is located at an altitude of 210 meters (690 feet ) above sea level and has an area of 2,883 square kilometers (1.1 sq. Miles). It borders Dhanbad and Purulia in the east, Ramgarh and Hazaribag in the west, Gyridh in the north and Ranchi in the south.
The population is more than 500 thousand people.

History
This region was previously known as Manbhum. The area became famous in connection with the creation of a metallurgical plant in cooperation with the USSR . Later, the city was planned and divided into sectors from 1 to 12. Each sector is divided into sub-sectors A, B, C, D, E, F and G. In each sector there are several shopping centers, as well as playgrounds, schools and recreation areas and medical centers. The whole city is planned.
Demographics
In the 2011 India Census , the Bocaro Stele City urban agglomeration was the 86th largest urban agglomeration [1] . Bokaro is a cosmopolitan city with people from different regions of India; Russians and Chinese also live and work in the city.

The city attracts students from neighboring states to study in the city.

Air
The local airport is used only by charter airplanes, the nearest civil airport is in Ranchi , at a distance of 120 km.
Railway
The station serves the residents of Bockaro and the surrounding mining and industrial zone. Trains go to Delhi and Calcutta .
Roads
The city is connected to other parts of India by highways.
