History
It was founded in 1837 [2] . According to the List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire, according to information for 1859, the breech village Krasnaya Rechka (aka Shalashi ) was located along a country road from the city of Nikolaevsk to the city of Khvalynsk and belonged to the Nikolaev district of the Samara province . 299 men and 300 women lived in the village, there was an Orthodox church [3] .
According to the populated places of the Samara province, according to the information for 1889, the Red River belonged to the Khlebnovsky volost of the Nikolaev district . The village was inhabited by 985 inhabitants, Russians , Orthodox. The land allotment was 4132 tithes of comfortable and 431 tithes of uncomfortable land, there was a church, 15 windmills , and a zemstvo school [4] . According to the census of 1897, 900 people lived in the village, all Orthodox [5]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Samara Province in 1910, the village was inhabited by former state peasants , mainly Russian , Orthodox, 585 men and 546 women, the village had a church , a parish school , 4 windmills [6] .
In 1924, instead of a parish school, a four-year primary was opened. Under Soviet rule, as part of the Nadezhda volost of the Pugachev district, the village became the center of the Krasnorechensky village council. In 1930, a new wooden school building was built from the houses of dispossessed residents, which in 1935 became seven-year-old. The church was closed around the same period and subsequently destroyed [2]
On the fronts of World War II , 156 people died. In 1961, the local school received eight-year status. In the late Soviet period, the central estate of the Red Partisan collective farm was located in Krasnaya Rechka. In the late 1980s, the local school was transformed into a secondary general education [2] .
Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in the Volga region , on the Krasnaya River, among the extreme south-eastern spurs of Kamenny Syrt [7] . The height of the center of the village is 63 meters above sea level [8] . The soils are southern chernozems [9] .
The village is located about 17 km in a straight line in a northwest direction from the district center of the city of Pugachev . By road, the distance to the regional center is 21 km, to the regional center of the city of Saratov - 250 km, to Samara - 200 km [10] .
