Physical-geographical characteristic
The village is located in the Trans-Volga region, within the Syrtovaya plain , belonging to the East European Plain, on the left bank of the Bolshaya Uzen River , at an altitude of about 70 meters above sea level [2] . The soils are dark brown [3] .
The settlement is located 17 km in a direct eastward direction from the district center of the city of Yershov (from the city center). By road, the distance to the center of Ershov is 21 km, to the regional center of the city of Saratov - 200 km [4] .
History
Founded as the central manor of the Decembrist state farm organized in 1954 [5] In 1956, an eight-year school was opened, in 1966 it was transformed into a secondary school [6]
