Shklovskaya hydroelectric power station ( Belorussian. Shkloўskaya hydroelectric power station ) is a planned hydroelectric power station on the Dnieper River near the village of Nizovtsy, Shklovsky District , five kilometers north of Shklov ( Belarus ) [1] .
Installed capacity is 4.9 MW.
It is planned to construct an earthen dam , flood spillway , a hydroelectric station building with the appropriate equipment, and a shipping lock .
The reservoir area will be 443 hectares. The dam will allow you to adjust the water level in the Dnieper during spring floods.
After the construction of the dam , the water level in the Dnieper will rise to Orsha itself. The river will become suitable for navigation on the Orsha-Shklov section [2] .
The construction of a hydroelectric station will cost $ 28 million. It is proposed to carry out construction as part of a public-private partnership according to the “BOT” scheme (construction-operation-transmission). The implementation of the project was entrusted to the Belenergo State Enterprise (RUE Mogilevenergo - the customer), the project coordinator is the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus [3] .
