YKL-40 - cartilage glycoprotein .
Today, it is known that many different types of cancer cells express YKL-40, for example, breast, colon, lung, kidney, pancreatic, ovarian, prostate, uterine carcinoma, osteosarcoma, oligodendroglioma, glioblastoma and embryonic cell tumors. Microchip analysis of the genome identified the YKL-40 gene as one of the most highly expressed genes in gliomas of high malignancy, in papillary thyroid carcinoma, and in extracellular myxoid chondrosarcoma.
