Biography
Aaron was born in the family of deacon . The training took place in the Tula Theological Seminary in the second half of the 1830s; the future archpriest D.V. Razumovsky was studying with him. After graduating from August 20, 1840, the seminary chose the path of a novice in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra . In 1843 he became a monk, in 1845, a hierodeacon , in 1850, a hieromonk . After a long time, in 1887, he became the archimandrite. About 50 years Aaron (Kazansky) was in the choir of the monastery, and 20 of them spent as regent. At the same time, he was familiar with the experience of the regent of the Chudovsky choir, F. A. Bagretsov , which he used in his work [1] [2] .
In the mid-1880s, Aaron (Kazansky), with the task of facilitating the assimilation of the ancient Lavra tune known as Trinity, and protecting it from changes and oblivion, reproduced from memory of Lavra Lavra worship services on paper, presenting Troitsky tune with all its features. The regent also used books for his work - the Lavra hand-written Irmology of 1748 and 1756. In total, in the book of Aaron about 600 eirmos were recorded in a monophonic manner in an alto key [1] .
The work was called “Irmology, containing the whole summer’s Hirmos used by church services at the Monastery of the Life-Giving Trinity and the Monk Sergius, with a local chant, assimilated by prescription”, printed with Irmo’s use gauge by P.I. Jurgenson in 1887 . Having subjected Irmology to minor corrections and changes, the laurel republished it in 1904. The transfer of labor to the treble clef took place in 1982, when the Moscow Patriarchate republished labor for the third time [1] .
