Biography

Grigory Dmitrievich was born on August 19, 1871 in the family of the chieftain of the Cossack village Atbasarskaya in Kazakhstan . Father, senior officer of the Siberian Cossack Army, Dmitry Timofeevich Nyashin. In 1884 - 1891 he studied at the Omsk gymnasium. In 1895 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Moscow University . In 1896-1897, Grigory Dmitrievich Nyashin worked as a statistician on an expedition to examine the economy of the Akmola and Semipalatinsk regions, and studied the life of nomads, migrants and Kazakhs.

In Moscow from 1891 to 1895, Grigory Dmitrievich managed to listen to lectures by prominent professors of that time - A. I. Chuprov (political economy and statistics), Yu. S. Gambarov (civil law), N. P. Bogolepova (history of Roman law), V.O. Klyuchevsky (Russian history), K.A. Timiryazev (botany), N.I. Kareeva , P.N. Milyukov, and others.

In Omsk in the years 1896-1897, Grigory Dmitrievich posted notes in the newspaper Stepnoy Krai, whose active employees included A. N. Bukeikhanov, I. S. Sharovsky, V. D. Sokolov (“Mitrich”).

In 1898, Grigory Dmitrievich was an assistant to the magistrate in the Akmola Regional Court. In 1899 , Mr .. - Assistant Secretary of the Omsk Court of Justice. From 1900 to 1907 he worked as a judicial investigator of the Tomsk District Court, took part in the defense of the preacher of white Burkhanism Chet Chelpanov in Biysk.

From 1900 to 1907, during his stay in Biysk County, G. D. Nyashin visited various places in Altai - ( Korgon , Teletskoye Lake , Chemal , Manzherok , Ongudai , Black Anuy, Ust-Kan , Abay, Upper Uimon ), and in August - December 1906 he traveled from Biysk to Rome and vice versa, examined the cities of Warsaw , Brunn , Vienna , Munich , Zurich , Lucerne, Lugano , Milan , Genoa , Pisa , Florence and Venice and spent more than a month in Moravia , in the town of дdanice ( Zdanice) near Brunna] (Brno).

In 1908, G. D. Nyashin moved to Barnaul, assuming office as sworn attorney for the Omsk Court of Justice, which he held until 1917 . He joined the city’s active social activities, joined the Society for the Care of Primary Education, and became a member of the governing council. Actively published on anthrax topics.

From 1917 to 1919, Grigory Dmitrievich served as the assistant chairman of the administrative department of the Barnaul District Court, then was elected the vowel of the Barnaul City Duma.

With the establishment of Soviet power in Barnaul and the liquidation of the district court, Grigory Dmitrievich Nyashin first became a researcher at the newly formed Altai Provincial Archival Administration ( 1921 ), then he headed it for about three years. Until his retirement in 1931 (almost 10 years), Grigory Dmitrievich worked in the regional archive and made a great contribution to the establishment of archiving in Altai . He personally traveled to the cities and villages of Altai to identify and select documents, largely thanks to his work, documents of various institutions of the pre-revolutionary period and the first years of Soviet power were collected and saved.

The 1920s were the most fruitful in scientific and creative terms for Grigory Dmitrievich Nyashin as an archivist and local historian . One of his most significant works was a list of archival documents and publications revealed by that time about I. I. Polzunov; for the Siberian Soviet Encyclopedia he wrote articles about F. V. Gebler , K. D. Frolov , V. K. Shtilke , P I. Shangine , A.N. Demidov , etc.

In 1917-1925, Grigory Dmitrievich Nyashin combined his main activity with teaching: he taught history, literature, social studies at the Barnaul Gymnasium, I. I. Polzunov Mechanical College, a trading school, and artillery courses.

In 1925, Nyashin acted as the organizer and keynote speaker of the first Altai local history conference. In the same year, he became a full member of the Altai department of the Russian Geographical Society, then a member of the society’s council ( 1926 ) and scientific secretary ( 1930 ). In 1928 he was a member of the council of the Barnaul Museum.

Grigory Dmitrievich was an ardent defender of the monuments of antiquity of Barnaul , was a member of the commission for their protection. In particular, Nyashin more than once boldly asserted that all the churches of the city together with bells needed to be preserved, an obelisk in honor of the 100th anniversary of mining, the grave of the head of the Altai mountain district, N. I. Zhurin, etc. .

After retiring, Grigory Dmitrievich continued to engage in local history. The topics of his research were very diverse: he collected material and wrote about I.I. Polzunov , Altai writer I.A. Kushchevsky , Dr. F.V. Gebler , the first sugar factories in Altai, scientific expeditions and researchers of Altai , foreigners, etc. .

Grigory Dmitrievich Nyashin devoted most of his life to the collection, scientific processing and publication of archival documents, materials on local history on the history of Altai .

He is the author of the first book on the history of Barnaul. This brief information is supplemented by the biographical documents published here, the autobiography of G. D. Nyashin, an example of his scientific work on the history of religions.

The personal fund of G. D.
