In 1868, after graduating from the Tver Cavalry Cadet School, he was promoted to officer . In 1871 he was promoted to the center .

Since 1873, a member of the Khiva campaign . In 1874, for the "battle distinction" produced in the captain . In 1875, "for military distinction" was promoted to military sergeant [1] . In 1878 he participated in the Russian-Turkish war .

In 1883, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and appointed commander of a battalion of the 73rd Krymsky E. I. V. Alexander Regiment . Since 1884, the Kopalsk district military commander , the head of the Kopalsk local team and the head of the Kopalsk military hospital.

In 1891, promoted to colonel and appointed commander of the 1st Brest-Litovsk Fortress Infantry Battalion.
