ᵺ ( TH with a diagonal stroke ) - the letter of the extended Latin alphabet. Sometimes used in English dictionaries and reference books (in particular, Random House ) to denote the sound [ ð ] (for example, in the word English th e ) [1] , while [ θ ] (for example, in the word English th ing ) is denoted by the letter combination th without diacritics. [2]
