Men's snowboard competitions in the halfpipe discipline at the 2018 Winter Olympics were held on February 13 and 14 in Phoenix snow park. Compared to previous Games, the number of participants in the competition has decreased, and the semifinal round has been canceled. 29 snowboarders from 13 countries performed in Pyeongchang. Qualification for the Games was carried out according to the FIS rating.
The current Olympic champion was the Swiss snowboarder Yuri Podladchikov , who was supposed to compete in Pyeongchang. However, on February 9, it became known that Poddalchikov had withdrawn from the competition due to a head injury sustained during the X Games .
Olympic champion 2006 and 2010 in this discipline 31-year-old Shawn White won his third Olympic gold. Previously, this was not possible for any snowboarder in any of the disciplines.

In the qualifying round involved 30 snowboarders. Each of the snowboarders performs 2 runs. The result is the best of them. Each attempt is given 110 seconds [2] . In the finals of the competition go 12 best snowboarders.
