Archimandrite Dionysius wrote about hieromonk Thomas:

The fraternity of this monastery, which passed away over the centuries and years, received in it an eternal rest in itself, the places of this repose about many are unknown, and their names, recorded in synodics, are already little known among the living. Of these, some are worthy of memories, such as: ...; Thomas, a hieromonk from the family of the Shakhovtsevs , after military service, stayed in the Danilovsky monastery from 1818 to 1850, in which he died, - life led a pious and worked on writing the Holy Gospel in an altar-large format on Alexandrian paper [2] .
