Country Code Errors
In some Zimbabwean passports, the country code is incorrect. The country code in these passports is indicated as ZIM, while it must be ZWE. This leads to trouble when Zimbabweans meet with airlines, immigration and border authorities. The same mistake often led officials to suspect that such passports were fake.
When scanning MRZ, immigration and control systems do not recognize the ZIM country code, because, as mentioned earlier, the actual ISO code for Zimbabwe must be ZWE.
Airlines such as Emirates and KLM have already deployed their employees [ where? ] and published information covering this issue on their sites.
Visa
As of January 1, 2017, Zimbabweans had a visa-free regime or visa to visit 59 countries and territories.
