History

At the end of the 1920s, Société de Travaux Dyle et Bacalan , founded in 1879 [2] , was already involved in the development and production of aircraft, in addition to the production of railway equipment, shipbuilding and public works.

Ateliers et Chantiers Maritimes du Sud-Ouest acquired its shipbuilding capacities in 1928, forming the new company Ateliers et Chantiers Maritimes du Sud-Ouest et de Bacalan Réunis . The reorganized Société Dyba continues to be engaged in railways , while the aviation design bureau and production are transferred to Société Aérienne Bordelaise (SAB), which was created in 1930. During her short time of existence, she is engaged in alterations of Dyle et Bacalan equipment, hoping to achieve military orders, but most of her developments do not go beyond the stage of single prototypes. Already in 1934, SAB was absorbed by the Potez-Bloch group, and later nationalized [3] and in 1936 joined the state association Societe Aeronautique du Sud-Ouest ( SNCASO ). [one]
