In 1990, during the first tour of Shufutinsky through the cities of the Soviet Union, behind the scenes of a concert in Chelyabinsk , the singer met Oleg Mityaev. During the meeting, the bard performed Shufutinsky's own songs on the guitar and presented him with a cassette with his notes [2] .
Only three years later, Shufutinsky did a cover version of "Neighbor", which, however, released under the name "Night Guest" as part of his next album, "Kitty-Kitty." Changes were also affected by the line “The sky descended on the avenue” , which Shufutinsky changed to “The sky fell on Moscow”.
To a greater extent, the success of this version was facilitated by the video clip for it, directed by Tigran Keosayan . For a long time he could not come up with a script for his future creation, until his father, the famous Soviet director Edmond Keosayan , made it clear that in the clip you can depict everything that is sung in the song [2] . As in many videos of Keosayan Jr., his then wife, actress Alyona Khmelnitskaya , starred in the film adaptation of “Neighbor”.
After the success of the song performed by Shufutinsky and the active rotation of the clip, a misunderstanding arose between Mityaev and the singer regarding royalties. When Shufutinsky turned to Mityaev for new songs, the bard hinted to the singer about the required royalties. Shufutinsky then supposedly suggested that Mityaev gave him his songs at no cost, but a little later the singer sent the bard a sum of a thousand dollars as “thanks for the work” [3] [4] . Mityaev himself in his interviews later admitted that he was very pleased with what work Shufutinsky did around this song [5] [4] .
In 2009, Shufutinsky participated with this song in the TV show on Channel One of the Property of the Republic channel dedicated to compositions of the urban romance genre. It is noteworthy that in this issue Oleg Mityaev also took part with the song "Summer is a small life."
Facts

- In 2005, Mityaev, along with his accompanying staff, rewrote the song for the collection "It's great that we all gathered here today."
- In 2006, at the anniversary concert of Mityaev in the State Palace of Music, the Ex-BB group presented their interpretation of the song.
- The program “Once a week” made a parody of the clip of Tigran Keosan in 1996, however, an original song was written for her, corresponding to the style of Shufutinsky. A parody of Shufutinsky himself was performed by Sergei Sivokho .
- The OSP Studio program in 1998 made a parody of the program Muzoboz (Musical Electric Locomotive) with the participation of Mikhail Shufutinsky (Mikhail Shkututinsky), performed by Andrei Bocharov . - Japanese translators of Oleg Mityaev’s work made hokku based on his songs, including “Neighbor” [6] . The reverse translation into Russian hokku sounds like this:
Again the guest at the neighbor. How to call her, so as not to offend a single woman.
- The translation was also made by German scholars of Russian bards. During the translations, the Germans directly turned to Mityaev with questions about what he wanted to say in one line or another, and gave out their options. Mityaev in this situation went to the trick and chose those options that he liked more. Bard later joked in his stories that the translations were better than the originals [6] .
