Zalkshu street (Riga)

Zalksu Street ( Latvian: Zalkšu iela ) is an arched street in the Vidzeme suburb of Riga , in the Teika microdistrict. It leads from Araishu street to Ausmas street ; in the middle part crosses Talivalzha street . It does not intersect with other streets.

It has asphalt throughout. The total length of the street is 372 meters [1] . Public transport does not run along the street.

History

Zalkshu Street was laid during the construction of the residential area “Savs stūrītis” ( Russian “Your Corner” ); the name was assigned in 1929 . It comes from Latvian. zalktis - “already” (see also Zaltis ). There were no renamed streets [2] .

The development is mostly private, low-rise, developed since the 1930s.

On the street Zalkshu lived the Latvian choir conductor Haralds Mednis (1906-2000).
