Streusby [1] ( africa. and English. Struisbaai ) is a small town in the southwest of the Republic of South Africa , in the territory of the Western Cape . It is part of the Oberberch district . It is part of the local municipality of Cape Agalas .

Geographical position
The city is located in the southern part of the province, on the shores of the Indian Ocean , northeast of Cape Igolny , approximately 150 kilometers (in a straight line) east-southeast (ESE) from Cape Town , the provincial capital. The absolute height is 0 meters above sea level [2] .
Climate
The climate of the city is subtropical Mediterranean . The average annual rainfall is 303 mm. Most precipitation falls between April and November. The average maximum air temperature varies from 17.3 ° C (in July), to 25 ° C (in January). The coldest month of the year is June. The average minimum night temperature for this month is 7 ° C [3] .
Population
According to the 2001 official census, the population was 2,780 people, of which 48.02% were men and 51.98% were women. In racial terms, color made up 53.85% of the city’s population, white - 42.37%, blacks - 3.78%. The most common languages among the townspeople were: Afrikaans (90.72%), English (6.26%) and braid (2.48%) [4] .
According to data obtained during the official census of 2011, 3,877 people lived in Streusbay, of which 48.21% were men, 51.79% were women, respectively. In racial terms, color made up 50.27% of the city's population, whites - 35.49%; blacks - 12.61%; Asians (including Indians - 0.39%, representatives of other races - 1.24%. The most common languages among the inhabitants of the city were: Afrikaans (85.24%), English (8.97%) and braid (2.61 %) [5] .
Transport
The regional highway R319 passes through the city. A small airport of the same name ( ICAO : FAAF) is located north of Streisbay [2] .
