Club career

Helmut Bentaus began his professional career at Westfalia Club (Herne) in 1958 from his hometown. In 1959, he won the Oberligu West, but a year later he left the team and moved to Munich 1860 . Benthouse was unable to gain a foothold in the team and went to the “Cologne” . After two seasons, Helmut moved to Basel, Switzerland. At the age of 36, the midfielder ended his career in 1971. [1]

Benthaus played eight games for the West German national team , between 1958 and 1960.
