Biography

Born in 1843 ( Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria , Austrian Empire .

He studied at Lviv and Vienna (Austria) universities. From the late 1860s, he was a doctor in Ternopil [2] , and eventually became a district doctor [3] [4] .

After the elimination of Count Kazimierz Badeni from the post of prime minister of the Austrian cabinet, he was succeeded by a friend, Count Leon Pininsky , who freed the ambassador in the Reichsrat from the peasant curia of the Ternopil electoral district. In order to save the situation, large landowners decided not to nominate any of the representatives of the clans of the counts Grokholsky, Pininsky, Tyshkovsky and other landowners, and another person who, in contrast to Ivan Franko, could cool or overcome the heat of the Ruthenian masses. This government counter-candidate was Dr. Mosfofil, county doctor, Dr. A. Gladishovsky [5] . In 1898, he was elected ambassador to the Austrian parliament (state council) in the Ternopil- Zbarazh district. At the same time, he won more votes than his rival Ivan Franko [2] , although he was considered a technical candidate ( Stepan Novakovsky called him a government candidate [6] ). There is a statement that he was assisted by Polish political circles who did not want to see Franco in the Diet [7] . Yatsko Ostapchuk, in his memoirs, asserted that Franco won the election, but after a long pause, they announced that with a margin of 4 votes, the doctor Gladishovsky became ambassador, supported by both Poles and almost all ecclesiastics - Greek Catholics [4] . The newspaper “ Public Voice ” wrote that in October 1898 during the consideration in the Ternopil court of the claim about the beating by Ivan Franko of the peasant Mikhail Podgainy, who turned out to be a slanderer, the last one of the witnesses said that he “had to shout his own, because I received from Gladishovsky 20 ZL. ( Golden Guilder ) [8] .

Son Anton [9] was the director of the “ Regional Union of Credit ” in Lviv (1912–1923), in 1914 and 1919–1923 he was the chairman of the Native School teacher's association [10] [11] .

He died on June 25, 1916 in the city of Ternopil during the occupation of the city by Russian troops during the First World War .
