Biography
Vladimir Verevkin was born in the city of Moscow in the family of General Nikolai Nikitich Verevkin . His brother Alexander was a major general and fought with honors with the highlanders in the Caucasus.
At the end of the Page Corps , on July 22, 1840, the ensign in the Life Guards Izmailovsky Regiment was released.
He took part in the Hungarian campaign of 1849 , and during the Eastern War he was first part of the Podolsk Jäger Regiment and took part in affairs near Silistria , and then, from April 1855, commanding the Yekaterinburg Infantry Regiment , he took an active part in the defense of Sevastopol . On August 27, 1855, when the enemy attacked the Schwartz redoubt , General Khrushchev called out Verevkin from the reserve, who, with two companies of his regiment and regiments Zhytomyr and Minsk , repelled the attack and greatly facilitated the prepared retreat of the army from Sevastopol . Wounded by two gun bullets, on January 12, 1856, Verevkin was awarded the Order of St. George , 4th class:

The Crimean War brought Verevkin other awards: the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree with a bow (1854) and St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with swords and a bow (1855).
On May 20, 1863, Verevkin was promoted to major general and appointed Vitebsk military governor, who held his post until July 1867, in 1866 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 1st degree.
In January - April 1868 he commanded the 16th Infantry Division . In April 1868 he was appointed commander of the local forces of the Vilna Military District . On this post on March 28, 1871 he was promoted to lieutenant general and awarded the orders of St. Vladimir of the 2nd degree (1873) and the White Eagle (1876).
In November 1876 he took command of the 36th Infantry Division . During the war with Turkey in 1877-1878 he continued to command this division and a special detachment, consisting of 12 small vessels, for operation in the Danube .
In 1878, he was appointed commander of the 4th and then the 14th Army Corps, with whom he became part of the occupation detachment in Bulgaria , was awarded the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky with swords [1] , and in 1883 received diamond badges to this order.
In 1885, Verevkin was appointed a member of the Alexander Committee on the Wounded , and in 1887, and commandant of the Peter and Paul Fortress , where he was buried.

Family
He was married to Elizabeth Petrovna Daragan (1834–1885), the daughter of General Peter Daragan from his marriage to Anna Balugyanskaya . According to a contemporary, “Mrs. Verevkina was the best [2] , brunette, sheer classical beauty, with antique features, lush shoulders, smart, large, black eyes, tall, slim and, as the French say,“ royal posture ”. She was more educated and more serious than her younger sisters ” [3] . She was engaged in icon painting and portraiture. I had children in marriage:
- Marianne (1860-1938), a famous artist.
- Peter (1862-1946), Governor of Coven and Vilnius.
- Vsevolod (1872-1924), married, left offspring.
