The competition is held on the Queensland Tennis Center outdoor hard courts in Brisbane , Australia for the tenth time.

The total prize pool of the tournament amounted to $ 1,528,910, the prize pool of women’s competitions - $ 1,000,000 (of which the prize pool of the main tournament - $ 894,700 ), men's - 528,910 dollars (of which the prize pool of the main tournament - $ 468,910).

General Information

In 2018, only one tennis player from the Top 10 of the world ranking took part in the men's single player tournament. It was last year’s winner of local competitions Grigor Dimitrov (No. 3 in the world at that time). The Bulgarian sowed under the first number eventually reached the semifinals, where he lost to the third seeding number to Nick Kirios (No. 21 in the world). In the final, Kirios defeated the seedless American, Ryan Harrison, and won the home tournament.

In the men's doubles competition, the 2016 champions Henry Continin and John Pierce celebrated the victory. For Pierce, this is the third title in Brisbane, in addition to two victories with Continen, he won in 2015 with Jamie Murray . Last year's triumphs Tanashi Kokkinakis and Jordan Thompson did not defend the title, but Thompson played in the tournament together with Lleyton Hewitt and lost already at the start.
