Clayton Keller ( born Clayton Keller ; July 29, 1998, Chesterfield ) is an American professional hockey player . Member of the NHL draft in 2016 , was selected in the 1st round under the general 7th number by the Arizona Coyotes team [1] .

Game career
In 2014, Keller began his career at a youth level in the team of the U.S. junior hockey team , which plays in the USHL , and left it in 2016. Having scored 189 points in 3 years, Clayton set a new record for this indicator in the entire history of the team, ahead of players such as Phil Kessel , Patrick Kane and Auston Matthews [2] .
In the 2016-2017 season, Keller joined the team at Boston University , playing in the NCAA League, where he became the team leader, scoring 21 goals and giving 24 assists in 31 matches. At the end of the season, Clayton was named the best rookie of the season in the league [3] .
NHL
In the 2016 NHL draft, Keller was selected in the 1st round under the common 7th number by the Arizona Coyotes team. On March 26, 2017, Clayton signed a three-year rookie contract with Arizona [4] and made his NHL debut in the same season against the St. Louis Blues team [5] . In the next match, against the Blues, he earned his first point in the NHL, giving an assist [6] .
In October 2017, Keller was recognized as the best rookie of the month in the NHL [7] .
International Career
In November 2014, Keller, as part of the youth hockey team of the USA, won the silver medals of the World Challenge Cup , where he became the top scorer of the tournament, gaining 13 points in 6 games [8] . In 2015, Clayton was a member of the US national team at the junior world championships and won the tournament gold medals.
In 2016, at his second junior world championship, Keller was named the MVP of the tournament, having won bronze medals with the team [9] .
At the 2017 World Youth Championships, Keller became the leader of the US national team and won gold medals. Clayton joined the team of tournament stars [10] .
At the adult level, he made his debut at the 2017 World Cup , having played 3 matches.
