Construction

The creation of the metro was approved in June 2012, preparation for the construction began on July 9, 2012. Construction began on March 28, 2014. In October 2016, the first two trains were delivered. The opening of Line 1 26.8 km long with 20 stations took place on June 23, 2019.

System

Priority plans include the opening by 2020 of two lines with a total length of 35.9 km with 29 stations and a construction cost of 23 billion yuan. Then they plan to extend them and build another city line and two lines to the suburbs. The system will have 3 city lines 90 km long and 2 suburban lines 117 km long. In the long run, the network will have 13 city and suburban lines.

Dongfanghong Station (1 line)
  • Line 1 (blue) - the 1st section opened in 2019 with 26.8 km, 20 stations. After the opening of the 2nd section planned later, it will have 34 km and 24 stations.
  • Line 2 (red) - scheduled to open in 2019 with 9.1 km, 9 stations. After the planned opening of the 2nd section, it will have 32 km and 29 stations.
  • Line 3 (orange) - perspective, with branching at one end. Will have 19 km, 14 stations, then 24 km, 20 stations.
  • Line 4 (green) - perspective, to the suburbs. Will have 27 km, 11 stations, then 46 km, 18 stations.
  • Line 5 (purple) - perspective, to the suburbs and the airport, with a branch at one end. Will have 71 km, 14 stations.
